hola.
New player here.
Few days ago find myself in a game that I have not started. It just so happened that it was tournament match where I was signed some days before.
So, thats how I was met turn based game. It has its prons and cons, but at least one thing I guess can be improved:
What about having ability to see discard pile that we usually see in normal game and can remember, by clicking on something on turn based game.
Let me explain. This games are looooong, so , people like me (short on memory) forget a lot of things about the match on next day or next move. And, obviously, we can take a paper and pen and write down all the cards that we have not choose on the draft, so we will know for sure what already gone from the game. Still doable, but tedious, right? What about BGA provide us that information, so we can ramp up quickly and remember the match we are playing?
In normal game mode this is in most cases not necessary, because we are playing from start till the end and we are mostly remembering what cards have been discarded.
No offense, as I said, can be done with a paper, or side app (Excell sheet, web app or whatever person can write for himself).
Will be nice to hear some thoughts from experienced player what they think. What I liked in this "slow" way of playing most, that I have a tonn of time to think about my moves, no rush. But, I guess, with experience that time will no longer be needed, so good players don't see any advantage in turn based games.

Because then you would just be able to know all the cards your opponents discarded and deduce their entire hand, especially in draft games.
I don’t really try to remember things like these (I’m not that sweaty), but I do take notes on which cards are revealed during certain events and I’ll write down my future plans.

The rules don’t allow you to look through the discard pile (most likely for the reason HappyMeaI provided).

maybe it was not very clear from the text. I am suggesting not breaking the rules, allowing to see whole discard pile. Just to show you cards that you have discarded before (buy not checking from the draft, or not buying them when you reveal, etc.). The thing, you allowed to see in regular game and you mostly will remember because you are playing non stop.
Hope it is more clear now

Just use the note section in the top right corner. If a note worthy card is passed in draft or discarded I write either:
"Possibly has urbanized area" or "Anti-grav out of the game".
Notes are probably even better since you don't have to look through all the bad cards to see what good ones are no longer out there.

Frankly I wouldn't mind a "seen discards" tab or something. would be relevant to flip through for stuff like ASA, Experimental Forest later on

I agree, for those 2 preludes and also for Search for life.
To the OP: In the meantime, you can add notes using the in-game "add notes" section and avoid needing to deal with pen and paper cluttering up your desk.

Not every card is noteworthy, you only have to store a tiny bit information for each game.

For preludes and openers I just take a screen shot of the history with my phone. I don’t play on PC, feels so weird. For SFL I’ll just jot down noteworthy cards like Rook said.
I find that the memory of which cards were discarded isn’t nearly as important as what you think your pesky little opponents are up to or what trickery you had in mind for the following gen. That’s why the notes feature is amazing. Without them, you are basically auto-piloting and your performance will surely suffer.

[well, using AI I have created something like handbook, which will allow me to store different game situations to quickly ramp up on them when it will be my turn.
Here is the screenshot:

I dont know will it help or not after some time, when I will be more experienced with the game. but for the moment, it is nice.
p.s. why images are not showing?
