Can a "group stage" tournament cut straight to a final?

When you setup a group stage tournament you have to set up two formats, one for each stage, but what will happen if you do something like the following.
Tournament set to 6 players per table
1st stage - Swiss where 6 players total qualify
2nd stage - Multiplayer elimination with top 3 to qualify
Will such a tournament go straight to the final in the 2nd stage, which is what I want to do, in effect meaning no multiplayer elimination actually takes place, or will it set 1 table of 6, have 3 players "qualify", and then declare those 3 players as winners when it's unable to set a table of 6 for the next round, which is what I'm worried might happen.
Thank you.

https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=370882 yes, it can proceed directly to finals like this tournament I made.
Group Stage seems to skip each group if group size is equal to number of players that qualify.
Note that it's impossible to have a group with less players than the number that qualify because Group Stage tournaments require a minimum number of players to meet the Stage 2 requirement.

I guess the question is does it work the other way from your tournament, I see how you achieved what you wanted, but say I start with 96 players set the first half of the tournament to 2 groups of 6 round Swiss, with top 3 to qualify from each group. Then the second half of the tournament to multiplayer elimination with any number to qualify really, the point being that I'd actually want it to go straight to a final of 6 players rather than play another round at all.

I understand what you mean now.. Multiplayer elimination seems to work by eliminating players until it reaches 1 table with the preferred number of players, then it runs a finals. There would be no purpose to the second game with 3 players.
Sounds like this accomplishes what you want.
Alternatively, make 12 players advance to second stage with 6p 3q and you could have a 2 match finals, 2 tables feeding into 1 table finals as an example.

If you find a configuration that work, please post the link to the tournament because I'm having trouble visualizing why the 1st round is necessary at all if you are starting with the number of players you want in the final.

He's basically making a second stage with only 1 game, the finals. Multiplayer Elimination selection will work fine here. Alternatively, it could be created as a 1 match Swiss for the exact same effect, maybe more clear?

This is what it seemed like to me, so I thought I was missing something. But if this is the case, then what is the point of structuring it as a two-stage tournament?

The point would be to make Swiss scoring system and non-elimination, but still include the excitement of a finals game. Swiss without a finals game can feel anti-climatic which is why many esports and card game tournaments start with a large swiss tournament and a top cut finals or top 8.
I would personally set Stage 2 up with 2 or 3 matches instead so there's quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to add more exciting games.

You can't actually set 1 round of Swiss right? I think 3 is the minimum number of rounds you can get set Swiss to.

Perhaps wants round 1 to have the "Try to prevent repeat matchups" option checked but wants the final to be the top 6 regardless of whether they've faced each other already.
(Although, with 6-player tables, the "try to prevent repeats" algorithm will be pretty lousy.)
