Where to Go to Find Players?

Still fairly new to the site, got a dozen different games under my belt, but not sure how to advertise I'm looking to play a game with a long queue to people who might be interested? Is this done via Discord? I can't seem to use the general chat yet as I appear to be short of the ten days mark.
Curious because I am willing to try out some betas for quicker games over multiple games to see how they play (solo and with other users), but I need people to play with. Currently trying out Golfie. Actually fun, and like tends to happen with all games I like, now I am searching the Internet for a copy.

real-time, or turn-based?
real-time maybe very difficult to find players for non-popular games.

Hello. Welcome to bga. I sent friend request. I will try to help you. I play many of those types of games and I have hard time finding players at times. We can help each other. You are going to love the site once you get used to it.

There is the bell feature for those cases: Go to the game page, activate the bell and you get a notification when someone opens a table of this game.
Otherwise, I suggest to make friends with players you enjoyed to play your favorite games with and invite each other.

How do you activate a bell? I can't seem to find it which is weird because I activated it for other games in the past. I'm trying to activate it for Pergola, a new game where it's hard to find real time players. Thanks for your help.

Maybe it's too active for a bell right now? I think the bell is only used for games where activity is low enough to justify it.

Ceaseless seems to be right. Although you may think there aren't enough players, Pergola has 588 active games (as of the time of this post). As an example of a game that does have a bell--Donuts--it only has 105 active games.
As for how to set the bell, go to that game's lobby, set select Play and Real-Time and you will see a message saying "Expected waiting time: >15 min" and underneath that message a box with a bell in it explaining how the bell works. So the threshold seems to be an estimated wait time of over 15 minutes.

Thanks. I thought 15 minutes was the threshold but I guess it is more than 15 minutes. Appreciate the help.
