[Any game] New game settings for opponent filters

Hello everyone, I've been playing a bit lately and it seems that I cannot set any filter for opponents, I'd like to play against similar rated players as myself and with high reputation, instead I find myself declining even a dozen times in a row because I get matched against either way better players (which would be unfun for both of us) and/or low rep players, and I sure don't want to waste my time with griefers.
Am I missing something here, or is it just the way it is?

You don't mention if you've tried to set filters, but yes, they are available. For the new lobby (game page), they are under the green door in the upper right of the table creation part of the page.
For the old lobby (Play Now), they're either under the cog icon for each game (if using automatic), or you can set them when you create tables if creating tables manually using the Restrict Table Access Link, again on the top right of where you select the players for your game.

Thanks man I hadn't checked that icon, works exactly as I meant!

I hadn't checked that icon
That's because despite them supposedly hiring consultants who knew what they were doing to design and test the new lobby, that icon does not intuitively convey what it's for. They decided to get cute instead of sticking with the gear icon that is standard across a variety of UIs. It may not have told you *what* settings are there, but at least you'd know there's something configurable there.

This is odd. When I create a game table, there is a clickable phrase, "restrict table access". It's not a gear or a green door.

That's in the multi-game Play Now lobby. I.e., the old but superior lobby. And only when it's set to Manual. If you set it to Automatic you'll see gear icons next to every game.
The new system where there's an individual lobby for just one game has the door icon. That new lobby did not exist 5 years ago. They hired consultants to design it because supposedly the old lobby was too confusing for new players and they wanted a way for someone to get playing as easily as possible in a purportedly "intuitive" way. I think they largely wasted the money they spent on those consultants.

Oh, I think I know what you mean. If I click on an individual game, it brings up this new Lobby with ways to adjust settings for that specific game that sound like what you've ben describing. I hate it and I never use it.

I only use it to write tutorials for how to use it for people who don't know there is any other way.
