"Chess-clock" for friendly game

I have been playing BG arena with my husband (across the kitchen table) and remote family (across the country) since early covid days, and have had a premium membership for almost five years. Recently I have noted that I use significantly more time than my opponents, and in some cases they have started to complain

. I totally admit I may be overthinking at times. Is there a way to limit the total time for each player in a game? That would certainly make it more stressful for me, but would keep the gaming flowing much better! Thx

All non-friendly BGA games add increments after every move, except tournament games. There is no option to remove the increment.
But you said "for friendly game." You want to *add* time limits to friendly games?

Seems like a neat idea. Allows players to play on a clock. Have a note that shows on the game logs that the player timed out without showing on their profile count. I don't think it matters much if you also add a kick option like in regular games or if you simply have it announce the timeout to no effect. The goal would simply be to have the game timed so a player knows if they would have lost on time through an automatic feature, so they wouldn't have to figure out how to clock it themselves. This lets friends play each time with the benefits of timers but without any concerns about ratings.

A chess clock has long been something that would be nice to have, but the BGA framework doesn't support it. I'm not sure if anyone has attempted to build one on top of it.

I know this exists at least for tournament games, probably only in turn based mode though. I don't think you cant setup a game like that outside of a tournament though, especially if you want to play in friendly mode
