I do think that 3p is the worst way to play this little cute game.
Why BGA choose this option for Arena games? Weird

don't complain here, it won't do anything. play a lot of games, become a guru, and suggest a vote in the Arena page. if majority of the players agree with u (i know i do), then it will change for next season!

Or, if you're so sure that's the right decision, surely whoever the gurus are they'll think the same and will change the settings for the next season without your input, so no need to do anything.

I just became a guru for this game. Highest option is now 4 players. So probably next season this will change.

I just worry that with 4 players, the downtime in the queue (esp. with real-time games) will be quite significant. It might improve the gameplay, but will probably result in a lot of waiting for the game to actually happen.

At least, I can imagine that could have been the reason for choosing 3-player setup for the arena this season.

Arena is always starting with lowest player count as standard if i am correct when it first goes to arena season and no extra options. So from.2nd season things can change.

I play Inside Jobs in real-time, with 4 and 5 players most of the time. I don't see or feel any downtime. During the game, communication is allowed (except that you may not talk about the cards in your own hand and the missions you discarded) and is part of the game. And watching others, what they do and if they play fast or have to think about their turn, can be part of the information to find out the roles of others.

The single turn of a player is just to play a single card and to decide whether to wager an intel or not. A single player, overthinking every turn can increase downtime, even in 3 player games. But I have not yet played with persons, that need much time for each and every turn. So, for me, downtime is not an issue for this game.

The issue is not downtime during the game, but waiting for more players to join the table before it starts.

This was exactly what I meant, waiting for the table to gather in the arena with 3 players can be already quite long. Waiting for 4 might end up taking even longer for the real-time table to start (if it doesn't end up outright killing the real-time arena mode for the game and we'll have to switch to turn-based mode).

Several players don't play arena exactly because it is 3 player. Don't think there is any other way than to try out.

Also one might not want to have leagues. They don't work with this game imho. This game doesn't really allow you to have streaks by playing well.
Would be better to just promote to Elite after just a few wins and that's it.
