Mystery Game

This morning I suddenly had a Welcome to.. game in my active tables that I did not start, did not accept an invite to, and it's with someone I've never played with before. It's not a tournament game, just a turn-based game. It was created 3 hours before I woke up.
I don't mind playing it, I just wonder how that could happen?

I've had similar things happen to me. Always games that I have played before. I always suspected maybe my browser recorded some (inadvertend) click so slowly that I couldn*t see the response in the UI so it went totally unnoticed. That's just a theory of course, no idea if any good.

Please file a bug report --
https://boardgamearena.com/bugs -- and include the table number and any other information you have. You're not the only ones seeing problems like this. (There are also issues with game options or restrictions not being respected that are plausibly related.) I suspect there's a bug or race condition (or several) that was introduced with virtual tables, and more examples will hopefully help the developers track it down.

If there are already bug reports for the issue, please don't open new reports, but vote for the existing ones, adding more information if useful.

Generally I'd agree, especially for suggestions. With bug reports it's harder to tell from the user side which problems are related, or not.
Getting the table numbers & any available information about how the unexpected games appeared to be initiated into some suitably labeled bug report is the most important part. I was surprised that mine was changed to "open" (from "awaiting" quite shortly after being filed, so I think someone is keeping an eye out for reports of unexpected and/or incorrectly restricted games.

Were you perchance participating in a Welcome to... tournament when the unexpected non-tournament game turned up in your active tables?
This may not be a useful question at all, but I discovered that it was easy for me to misclick things on the game page UI such that I created a new table while trying to accept an invitation to a tournament game. (Or rather, after I'd accepted a tournament invite, but before the other player had accepted it, and the table hadn't been instantiated yet.) I've attempted to document that in
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=170769 and would appreciate feedback on whether I've explained clearly.
Is the activity level for Welcome to... such that an open table invitation might've sat around for a few hours (while you were sleeping)? Were you the table administrator, or was the other player?

No, I'm not at 100 ELO yet so wouldn't participate in a tournament. The person said they were just randomly dropped into a game with me when they wanted to play. I have opened a bug report.
