Board Game Arena

Would it be an idea to have a separate game for the standard and another for the expansions? In that way we can try the new expansions without resetting our elo-points. There are a lot of good expansions to different games, but if you try a new expansion you risk losing a lot of elo points that you earned playing the original.
I guess that it should not matter because it is only a game, but sometimes it does matter.
What is your view?
