Tired of so-called "last turn quitters" - Action required from admins/developers

As in the title, I'm getting quite tired of these people who leaves the game the exact moment just before the final counting of scores, when the game is already over (and they are abviously losing the game). This way, the true "winner" of the game doesn't get the due reward for playing the whole game till the end.
And this is not a way to give away a game you know it's already lost from the beginnins, as I read elsewhere here, because this is not done during the game itself but at the very end, when the system is calculating the final points!
That's totally unfair. Thus, I specifically ask mods/admins/developers of BGA to find a way for us to report this kind of players, should that be a section of the forum or a ticket system. And to take measures to make these people stop this behaviour asap!
Thanks!

What actions do you expect from developers??

Game developer here. There are four points you should consider, or at least acknowledge, before making such a request:

1. This has already been discussed extensively. Have you seen/participated in those topics?
2. The karma system is in place to penalize players who quit early. Some players feel it's too strong; others feel it's too weak.
3. This is a discussion forum where you're talking to other players, not BGA employees.
4. Game developers can't do what you're asking.

Particularly on point 4, the game developers don't have access to individual accounts. We only control the game itself, not joining the game, not karma penalties, not kicking people, etc. We take a lot of heat from people (not just you) who think we should be doing things that we have no control over.

I agree with the OP that this is frustrating, but Kayvon makes excellent points.

How exactly can anyone at BGA (developer or admin or otherwise) force an opponent to make a move to complete a game?

If an opponent engages in this behavior, there is a Karma penalty. Then, you can give that player a red thumb, and for the reason, choose the most appropriate reason, and click "everyone should avoid this player".

I am not sure what else can realistically be done.

I just want to be clear: Are you objecting to players quitting by allowing time to run out without making a move? Or, are you objecting to players using the "concede" option? Because, conceding is fairly standard in some games, such as chess.

I do think it's poor sportsmanship to quit OR concede at literally the last minute before the final score is tabulated. It messes up the final game state, messes up the statistics (which is significant; sometimes high-level players use statistical analysis to find imbalances and suggest adjustments that the game developers eventually agree to implement), and just to me seems akin to flipping over the dining table just before losing a game.

But, others have told me they think I have no "right" to see the final score be tallied and that my opponent has every right to avoid seeing it.

You red thumb them. If someone gets too many red thumbs, they get a permanent karma penalty.

It also is pointless to quit (instead of resigning or letting the game finish). You suffer a bigger elo loss by quitting than by just letting the game end normally.

If it's a 2 player game, there's also the option of resigning instead of quitting.

What is this permanent Karma penalty?
People can be given red thumbs for any whimsical reason, and then get a permanent penalty? I've been given quite a few red thumbs from players whom I did not even say anything to in the chat, or who have never even played me in any game. How is it fair for there to be a permanent Karma penalty?

This information is quite outdated.

There used be a karma penalty for public red thumbs. Private thumbs you could give for any reason to anyone, even people you had not played with. They did not affect karma. Public red thumbs could only be given if you provided a reason and had played with that person. Also, public red thumbs were limited to some ratio of the number of green thumbs you'd given out.

Due to abuse (because we can't have nice things) red thumbs now only function behind the scenes to trigger a private warning to that person. (see my post above) Both kinds of red thumbs still exist, of course, but I'm not sure there's even still a limit on the number of public red thumbs you can give out.

Really? The way it used to work is that, if someone got too many red thumbs, their Karma cap became less than 100%. They changed it? There really were people multi-accounting and mass red thumbing someone?

The way it works now, you get -10 karma for quitting a game and +1 for finishing a game. If you quit a game, then you can play 10 quick games to recover your karma penalty.

There is a cap on the ratio of red thumbs to green thumbs you can give out. Green thumb a bunch of people and now you'll be allowed to give out more red thumbs.

I have over 60 red thumbs on me just because I play arena and in some games have high ELO. So people use it to not face me. Other players red thumb people to not face them anymore because the already leeched out all ELO (you gain less ELO when you play against same person over and over)

The problem is red thumbs have different purposes - which isn't optimal.
