Blocking chat table

I saw that it is possible to block a player in the table chat, preventing him from writing in the table chat: where is this function?
Second question: is it acceptable? I mean, it is fine that I can ignore a player's chat, if I consider him annoying, but that I can decide to also prevent him from communicating with the OTHER participants seems excessive to me.

The Google Chrome (and Firefox) extension allows you to mute a player in the chat, for you. It's not an official feature from BGA, and it doesn't affect other players. Just prevents you from having to listen to them if they annoy you.
At least, I assume this is what you're talking about, as I'm not sure of any other feature - red thumbed players obviously can't chat with you either, but I'm not sure if that affects games in progress, and once given, red thumbs also prevent those players from playing with you.

I saw that
Where did you see this? As Nik mentioned, there's no built-in mute feature on BGA, only third-party extensions. I don't know if you saw some message about a player's chat being blocked during a game (and I don't even know if that's a thing), but if so that was done as a penalty by an admin, not by a player.

Some players are not allowed to chat with anyone, but that was a moderator decision, and affects all tables, it's not your choice.

Last time, happened at this table
https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=693955146
After message "I manage this game from now on... ", I tried to reply but a red banner appeared on the top of the chat window saying something like "you are blocked by another player".
I was playing at that table, and tried a couple of time to write something, but same message appears.
I tried a couple of minutes ago, and it worked again (message "a").
It happened some time ago at another Bang! table (can't retrieve numer now): that time message was different and referred to Chrome extension.
Same result: I was unable to talk to other players at that table at all.
