These players should be penalized. Loss of Karma at a minimum. It's quitting on the last move and should not be allowed.

Quitting is always penalized, except in friendly games, or when someone else has quit before.

Most people are just conceding the game when they know they've lost, like in chess. It saves time.

concede(no penalty) is NOT quit(has karma penalty).

It saves no time. It is the LAST move of the game. Saves 5 seconds? It changes end of game score and stats. And it's poor sportsmanship. You can not compare resigning in Chess to quitting when the Boots are played in Seasons.

Yeah, getting worked up over it is silly.

It probably depends on the games you're familiar with, but I don't think the same way about resigning.
I'm a Japanese player, so I'm familiar with shogi and go, and I think that in these two-player strategic games, it's normal to honestly admit defeat when there's 0% chance of winning.
I think this is also true in world-famous games like chess. Even if you can reach mate with a few moves left, it's rare to get to that point unless it's a match between beginners.
In Seasons, when the boot of time is played, it's often the moment when there's no chance of winning, so it's natural for players to resign at that point. This is because it means you'll never get your turn again, and if you're down in points at that point, there's no way to recover.
And it's a sign that you've played well enough that your opponent clearly knows they've lost, even without counting the points, so it makes you feel good, not bad at all.

Of course it is silly. Playing boots means the game is over, most of the time. I have conceded many games where I just banked on the fact that the opponent didn't have them, but alas they did. Who are you to tell me I should wait X amount of time only to see a huge score difference at the end? Could I then ask for penalty for that same player, who then proceeds to do other things on their turn, despite the score marker obviously showing they are winning. The game doesn't have hidden scores in the end and you know exactly what the final score is at any given moment. If you play boots and win on the spot, why do you then need to do stuff like Vampiric Crown + Amsug and transmute crap?
