Board Game Arena

Hello je suis surpris et déçu de voir une saison 22 à 6 joueurs : une version qui inclut beaucoup de hasard / chance et qui me semble peu propice au mode Arene qui voit se rencontrer des joueurs + passionnés. En + ça prend + de temps pour trouver des joueurs et pour faire les parties. Si ce sont des "gourous" qui ont décidé je m'incline mais je me demande si je vais y participer.

Hello I am surprised and disapointed to discover that this Season 22 will be with 6 players. This is a complete different game with a lot of luck, presumably not favorable to competitions. If the gurus have decided : Ok their choice but I am surprised... Alle the best to the participants

Gurus are the only ones that can change the settings for arena. Which means the majority of the gurus voted for this since it passed

i just wanted to add: this was the worst desicion ever.

I will wait for next season. Maybe BGA will see from number of games played that this was a disaster.

As said above, "BGA" doesn't make these decisions. They let players called gurus vote on them.

Then the gurus chosen weren't designated by skill, since this decision is the most luck-based of the set. I'll amend my comment re gurus to "skill-based gurus".

Yeah, I've been passing on this season as well, since the wait time is prohibitive and advancement almost strictly luck. Not fun at all.

No, they aren't, and I didn't say they were. This is explained in the FAQ, which is linked to at the bottom of virtually every page on the site:

How are the Game Guru chosen?
Gurus are promoted and demoted continuously. They must satisfy these conditions:

• Be an experienced Board Game Arena user with at least 1 year of seniority on the platform.

• Have a stellar reputation, corresponding to a Karma level of at least 90.

• Play a lot! Be among the 100 most active players of ranked tables for the game in the last thirty days.

For unpopular games you can become a guru by literally only playing one game (as happened to me with Twin Tin Bots). It is a flawed system. I don't want to assume ill intent, but it also convenient for BGA that if players don't like a season's settings BGA can point to the gurus and say "it wasn't us. They voted for it."
