Dearest gurus,
Could we please not play Alien Artifacts in arena if we're unable to ban Galactic Investors. It's a fun expansion otherwise but Galactic Investors really ruins the dynamics, imo.

I don't, on the whole, hold with banning specific cards. But YonniF has a point. Investors MASSIVELY skews the entire set. I wonder how that card ever made it through playtesting. Combining it with, say, Frontier World or Industrial Robots turn 1 is pretty much game, and that's pretty disheartening.
The pity is, I love the rest of AA. But in 2P, Investors is pretty seriously borked.

Ya this card is definitely overpowered. Can go on serious dev runs with a few cards that is unstoppable.

Ruins an otherwise perfect set of cards, indeed

I think I've only played Alien Artifacts once, and no one had that card.
Seems ban-worthy to me. But I also think that about some other cards that I feel can single-handedly ruin the game.

Yes! The investors are deadly, in financial and gaming terms. I love to have them in my deck, though. My only chance to win against ELO400 people.

Is there somewhere actual data that shows the win rate spikes for players who have played Galactic Investors? I would be very interested to see this data if anyone can point me to it. I do not have problem with the card itself since it is a 5-cost card that still requires synergy with other cards giving develop bonuses to gain a big advantage. I am guessing that the main issue here is that Galactic Investors makes the most unfun strategy, namely develop spam, more powerful. And I agree that it would be good if develop spam strategy would not be encouraged.

It may be that Galactic Investors is overpowered only when it comes out early: I used it in a game recently and still found a way to lose!

I don't think it's terribly OP compared to a lot of other strong cards. But you hit the nail on the head. It leads to an unfun strategy that also depends on a lot of random luck - you need to draw cards that score from your dev slam.
