Racetrack section question

In the racetrack section, the person who takes a character's card is the one who has the greatest number of their pawns in the row of that card?

I make this question because I finished a game and something strange happened in the last move of my opponent. :twisted: :?:

Yes, that is correct. He finished the racetrack row, giving the character to the person who had more chips there, but that person was you. Thus, even though he finished the row, you got the character, causing you to win. It doesn't matter who put the last one on, it matters who had more at the end of the turn when the last one was put on. In other words, a lucky break for you.
