I am never going to get back to Elite level this season with how brutal the points are awarded.

Since day 1 I have won once, a tie. I got two points for it in silver. A forfeit time out gave me one. I lose three if I lose.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS ALGORITHM?

It is truly unfun. I do not know if I will bother anymore this season unless this gets fixed.

That's how it always works in the beginning of the arena with such kind of games. Points gained/lost depend on what ranks your opponents and you are. As everyone is around silver at the beginning, gaining is slow. You need to have a good run of games to jump up the rank and then it becomes even harder. But slowly and steadily players will be advancing, and the more the top players advance the more they pull the rest with them. I can guarantee you, in 30 days the majority will be in the elite level.
So, if you are bothered, just take a month break and when you come back, you will be flying up to elite in no time. Or, alternatively just ignore it, because it really is an irrelevant system.

Thanks. I needed perspective. But it would be great if there was some way for early seasons to work better.

How many games do you play? I sometimes think it is me playing too many?
