Four friends and I have been playing Puerto Rico with standard rules.

1. There are only 2 factories to purchase.
2. The price of the factories is 7 dubloons.

Are these settings correct? Is there any way, when setting up the game, to change them?

Also, games have so far ended due to lack of colonists. Is there a way to increase the number of available colonists?

You cannot increase the number of available factories, but if you play a "balanced" game they will cost 8 which would make them go a litlte slower.

If you do not like depleted colonists ending your game so soon, you can play with the 2nd expansion turned on where depleted colonists does not end the game
