Board Game Arena

We keep flip flopping between 2 and 3 players for ranked. Leave it at 2. You kill the competitive scene of this game every time you change it. It’s impossible to find matches now and they’re no longer skill based, but RNG heavy. It’s frustrating we now have 90 days of a terrible ranked experience. Go to casual if you want higher player counts. Ranked is not the place for this.

I'm taking this into consideration next time.

Ranked is only available in arena mode. The statement you made is blatantly false. If you voted for three player arena then shame on you. Removing skill should never be the goal of a ranked ruleset.

Ranked is any game not in friendly mode. Ranked games are those that can affect elo. So simple, Arena and tournaments are all ranked.

Maybe you refer to Arena as "ranked", because it's the rank shown by default in the game page. But that's not what "ranked" means in the FAQ statement:

"The players who played the most (ranked) games in the last 30 days will automatically become gurus. (limited to 100 players)"

They directly quoted information supporting their claim and told you where it came from. You neither disputed the accuracy of their information nor explained how the word "ranked" as used in the FAQ is consistent with what you want the meaning to be. Instead you sunk to an ad hominem attack.

A player does not have to play Arena in order to become a guru, therefore the use of the term ranked in the FAQ includes non-Arena activity. Period.

Why not just keep it as 3 players? 2 players mode is a joke and a waste of the arena system.

The activity level of this season is why.. no one wanted 3 players. It’s a bad arena format. Very random. Two players allows for the skilled players to win more consistently.
