Tournament match - problem with repeated "concede" request even where denied

This issue allows a player to purposely cause an opponent to time out if that player will not 'accept' the offer to concede.

This occurred in a tournament (5 game match I am in without doubling cube).
I am currently in a match with a player (and he is purposely preventing me from playing the match. I have refused to accept his "concede" (as there is a chance for a gammon) but he just repeats the offer to concede the point in the same state of the game even though I continue to decline. He's already done this over 40 times over and over. He has threatened to let the game time out if I don't accept his concede. I have less thinking time left. I get using legitimate strategy to win a match but this isn't that. There is a glitch in the game in that it lets a player do this. I just want to play the match but he will not let me! I have reported this but is there anything I can do to override this?

Should there be an amendment to the game platform to prevent this use of the concede button where there is no doubling cube in use?

I suspect this has happened in other matches and could be an increasing problem allowing players to cheat.

Anyone else experience this?

I have seen players do other less explicit stalling tactics to purposely cause someone to time out but now with this, it is seriously causing me to not play anymore tournaments. There is always that player but this is taking it to the next level beyond good gamesmanship and sportsmanship.

Interested in any input.

Thank you

I just experienced the same thing, just as I'm about to win a round with a Gammon they try to concede so I only get one point instead of two. I appreciate you post which helped me decide to not accept the concede allowing me to finish out the round and get my two points. Your situation is much more frustrating than mine and I'm sorry you are experiencing this. Hopefully you can reject their offer and make your move when they aren't online.

Have you tried report it as a bug?

The opponent just kept re-sending the 1-game forfeit hundreds of times preventing the game to continue or advanceuntil the match timed out. Ridiculous. I will report as a bug but this has ruined the game for me. I will not register for any new tournaments. Pointless.
I can’t imagine how that is a fun way for anyone to win.

The same thing is happening to me at the moment. My opponent is repeatedly offering me to accept a point even though there is clearly a possibility of gammon. I think he wants to run out the time, he has 12 days left and I have 8. There should be a limited number of offers.

Have a similar situation in an arena game, it also seems the clock gets reset every time a request is sent so it will literally never end.

It happened to me as well. Obvious use of a bug to influence the game outcome.
Doubling shouldn't be aloud once refused as per backgammon rules.
This point meets timer issues. They should implement the backgammongalxy website timer model here. It allows 15 seconds to roll dices before starting and a player is aloud a total time per game, it doesn't reset after each roll which makes much more sense and avoids anti-sportsmanship attitudes

This just happened to me.
Player repeatedly conceding one point when I had a definite backgammon.
Was this reported as a bug by anyone?
If this original post was made in July 2025 it doesnt seem like anyone has reported it or BGA are not doing anything about it.
