Why does nobody play anything other than deer? It is getting very, very boring and old. No one I have played does anything else -- deer, wolf, deer, wolf.Boring. C'mon, people. Try something else.

And to our publisher friends at Forest Shuffle -- do something to fix this boring, boring meta. Until then, I'm out as the game is just about drawing deer and wolves and nothing else can compete.

I've been trying somethin g else, but also I'm mostly losing games.

While i agree in the basegame the deers are the most efficient strategy, this is somewhat resolved by playing with the expansion as they dilute the deck of deers and provide support for alternative strategies. Playing with both is is best if you want to see less deers. Playing with just alpine seems to be the most balanced from my understanding

...and please keep in mind in a 2 player game, a certain amount of cards are never in play (a total of 30 card will be removed before the start).

So - there is a chance that you won't be able to play with all deer /wolves in general.

Play with both expansions. Butterflies suddenly spring to life and become quite powerful!

At home, we quickly installed a 'one wolf per player' rule, which kept the deers down

I guess you dont really know how this game can be played. Playing Rabbits can easy win you a game. Playing a Rush Strategy with Racoons and Bears and Vultures can easy win you a game. Playing Birds can easy win a game. *

I feel your pain and just posted a forum about it. I am getting near to quitting playing online Forest Shuffle. Tried my best to flush deer cards out of the deck and did not see one 1 wolf the entire game. Opponent still draws 5 deer, 3 wolves, and enough hooved to absolutely curb stomp me. 3/4 of my opponents just play deer/wolf and all I can do is hope they do not draw more deer/wolves or hope I can flush them out, otherwise I know that I am completely done for. I have tried numerous strategies successfully and no score I have ever seen compares to deer. The second time I ever played this game I got my highest score ever I've ever gotten by playing deer. Very discouraging, makes me less excited to play this game as time goes on.

If you play with both expansions,Wolves and deer are diluted,and butterflies are competitive with them.
