Beginners (vs. "Premium")

I can understand that this is a premium game, in general. It looks like it had a lot of dev time to develop and support. It's a popular game, and a draw to the premium service.
But: Beginners, and the beginner corporation
I cannot get a game when I turn on beginner corporations.
Every game I see created has it off.
Sitting there for an hour, with an attempt to make a board with it turned on, I got *zero* people.
This is a game that has a solo play option, and this should be a nice alternative -- give people a chance to play solo with beginner corporation, learn the game, and then go into the real game with real people. But that doesn't work with the "premium" restriction.
I am flat out told that turning beginner off is not recommended.
I cannot get a game with it turned on.
Instead of being able to get into the game community, I am excluded, completely.
What are ways around this? Well, for starters, I'd want to find out why people do not want to join a beginner game.
Is it --
"I don't want my ELO to be ruined with different play values"?
"I don't want to waste time with a beginner"?
"I don't find the beginner option fun"?
"I'm worried a good player will use this for unfair advantage"?
Something else?
1 -- A way to play unranked games (which in general, I think BGA needs)
2 -- Solo games could be "non-premium"
3, 4 -- a way to let new players / very low ELO users use beginner corporation and regular users not
