How to make the game harder, self imposed restrictions.

Have been playing this game solo for a few days.

One thing is obvious, that the game is too easy. There is already a thread and a suggestion to allow multiple challenge cards. Seems unlikely to happen. So I tried to come up with some self-applied rules to shake things up a bit.

I tried a few things, the best I can come up (so far is this:

Local projects, you can only use energy cards once per GAME, those that either gain clean energy or reduce dirty.

It works quite well because it forces you to have to keep thinking about generating energy, and now you have to balance ALL the other stuff as well. like protection, icons, card draw, funding, etc.

I have won 2 out 3 times so far. And it takes me till the 5th or 6th round.

I have a similar suggestion: only one "Draw X and keep only the cars matching these icons" per game.

I've played quite a few games, and whenever I get two or more of these cards, especially early, it's always an easy win.

Of course, the best way to make the game harder is to play co-op with someone who hasn't played as much ;-)

Keep learning!

To me the point of the game is that if governments were really trying to do the right thing (the only sane thing!) then they have a host of tools at their/our disposal. So in some ways, it should be easy, within the constraints of financial and human capital. I see the game as a way to process some of my climate grief, to be honest.

absolutely. But for a single person it isn't easy.
So if you want the game to reflect that, then there should be more obstacles to get in your way, just like real politics.
