I noticed that nine accounts were playing from the same IP address in the World Championship. In this tournament https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=413290 nine out of 32 players also played from the same IP address. These accounts use similar handwriting and have similar levels of play. It seems obvious to me that it's the same player, and I wonder how bga could allow this.

Played against three of them during the championship. Same IP, same presence time on site, same playstyle. It's funny to watch them have a common break when all these accounts are offline, and then they log in one by one to make a move.
I hope that the organizer and BGA will take action, because for now it does not look like a fair competition.

At least 10 accounts. Since the topic was published on the forum, another account with the same IP has been identified.

Yes, if he's not punished, I wonder why he's allowed to do so. I think asking for it publicly with a forum post would draw more attention to unfair behavior and make it easier for moderators to take action.

Posting in a forum will most likely not help. Reporting the offending player(s) might.

For me, this topic can be expanded to a question/proposal to the BGA administration, highlighting accounts using the same IP within one tournament, as is done in common games. It is difficult to find such accounts manually, and I am sure that the problem is much more critical and, in particular, I am sure that in the tournament for the basic version of the game there are fans of playing with several accounts.

As the organizer of the tournament linked above (Agora Loves Pantheon), I want to publicly address this situation.

After conducting a thorough internal review, we can confirm that multiple accounts in the tournament are being operated by the same individual(s). This behavior is unacceptable and directly undermines the spirit of fair competition that our community values.

We are in contact with BGA regarding these findings, and appropriate steps are being considered. In the meantime:

We are giving those involved one final opportunity to remove themselves from the tournament and delete any duplicate or deceptive accounts.
If no action is taken, we will move forward with public naming and possible bans from future tournaments.
This is not just about one tournament – it's about maintaining trust and fairness across all of them.

We deeply appreciate the players who brought this to attention and continue to play with integrity. Tournament integrity matters, and we will protect it.

This is the correct path.

Publicly naming them is not allowed and will get you moderated.

The only way to "ban" someone from a tournament is to make it private and not invite them. You can't exclude someone from a public tournament as much as I want to do so for some players. How are you going to ban them from future tournaments if they just keep making new accounts, other than simply not inviting new accounts at all?
