Board Game Arena

Just this week I've looked for the beta announcement for two different games--Verso and Café--in the Beta Games forum and didn't see either one. Many games have a thread there titled "[game name] is now in beta." I thought maybe they went straight to full release (if that's even a thing), except someone in the release thread for Café said it has been on BGA for a while.

Do some games go into beta without it being announced?

It's automatically announced in the players group, but it's up to the developer to promote it in the forums if he feels it's needed.
