Browser memory usage

I was wondering why the site is so slow for me. Then I happened to mouse over the Chrome tab and it says the page has a "high memory usage" of 1.2GB. This is just for the "games in progress" list.
Please can you find a way to code more optimally. We don't all have high-end computers with endless memory.

In Firefox with 10 games in progress, it seems to use about 1/6 of that memory. I wonder if it is more specific to Chrome, or if having 30+ games in progress makes it increase that quickly.
