Board Game Arena

This is driving me nuts, how do i activate Live scoring, my friend has it on in Carcassonne, Terraforming Mars, Arc Nova, and so on, and i cant find the option ANYWHERE!! and no Info in the forum .. I'm going nuts,, Thank you for your help

Live scoring for Terraforming Mars has to be enabled as a game option before the game starts (and then possibly individual players can turn of the display for themselves). On the game page, it's under additional options. In the Play Now lobby, it's visible on the table page on the left as one of the options to configure when setting up the game.

I expect the other games handle it similarly.

Also, not all games offer it.

Lets use Carcassonne as reference, as i have seen it working with "live scoring", but still cant turn it on myself. game options preferences for:
Carcassonne, and Additional options, has no such button or option to turn it on... Does anyone know?

Looking at an open Carcassonne table, I don't see live scoring as an option there, I agree.

So perhaps it's implemented differently for Carcassonne than for Terraforming Mars. Looking at a Carcassonne & also at a Hunters&Gatherers game, both of them seemed to have live scoring enabled, displayed as number of stars in the player boxes on the right. Is that not what you're looking for?

ETA: another possibility is that players can enable or disable live scoring for themselves, in which case it should be under the gear option near the player panels.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out on Carcassonne the scoring is... STAR "number" then the live score is [Number] just next to the score number, my friend says she didn't actually turn it on anywhere, but its on in all games (that allows live score), and i cant find the option in ANY of the games..

does anyone have a more detailed description or screenshot or whatever?

Here is an example from creating a "Scythe" table using the Manual settings on the Play Now page.

This is just one game that off the top of my head I knew lets the table creator determine if live scoring is active. There may be others.

IIRC Carcassonne is score-as-you-go, with no secret information about what has been scored -- nor could the scoring be easily recreated from the endgame situation without re-running the game, as meeples are scored and removed from the board as structures are completed, and returned to the player for re-use. So the numbers displayed by the star in the player boxes/panels on the right should be the live scoring information.

What are you looking for if not that?

So if that's not your image, where did it come from? When was it created?

I played a bit of a dummy Carcassonne game with my partner just now, and I couldn't see any option for it. So I don't know. Perhaps ask the person whose image it is?
