Any tips for playing faster?

I find I'm always running out of time; I've started avoiding play on fast speed entirely, which helps some; it still seems like I'm quite prone to going over time limit often at some point in the game. Whenever I have a long complex turn, especially two in a row (and ones where you can't figure everything out beforehand, which I try to do, but isn't always possible), I tend to go over. There's just so much clicking to do, especially when i've got a 2x token or a lot of triggers that need to be processed and take some thought.

Easy stuff first: There's a setting to speed up or entirely disable animations, if it's just a problem with not being able to click through everything fast enough.

Less easy stuff: Experience helps - being able to plan ahead multiple turns (especially if playing against a slower opponent) helps keep your time high for when you do have turns that need more thought (lots of new cards came out, unexpected play by opponent, etc.)

I wonder why this is a problem for you after all. Why not simply take the time you need (using a slower speed game) and enjoy the gameplay?

Remember that this game's interaction point is 2, which means that your plan will be less interfered by other players. You can think your action in other player's turn.

Major interaction points are such as:
* University and petition zoo
* Base conservation race
* Displayed cards
* Attacking animals such as poison (if you are attacked player)
* when to end the game

And minor interaction points are such as:
* Attacking animals such as poison (if you are attacking player)
* conservation point bonus
* red card discard at 10 shields

If you set plan A and plan B, your action will become quicker.(As said earlier, you have more experience, you set up quicker.)

For example, your plan A is to get Oceania petition zoo and plan B is breaking with sponsor action card. If other player get Ocenania, then you can do Plan B quickly. However, if OP animals such as elephants or rhinos are popped up in displayed card, you can change your action to plan C - snap it.(In other worlds, new display cards are not important, you can simply ignore it) This will be examplified how interaction in Ark Nova works.
