This is always showing as my turn, which it isn't. It's really annoying because I get led to it all the time. Also I suspect my opponent doesn't get led to it since she moved fast until we landed where we are now. How do we deal with such things? First time it's happened to me in eight months on the site.

For me it shows emma's clock running. Perhaps you use a different browser and take a look? Remove cookies at your current browser?

When this happens to me if I am on my phone or tablet, I swipe down from the top to reload the page.
If on the web page I just hit the refresh page icon on your browser.
Hope this helps

I've seen this numerous times as well (as recently as a few days ago). And it is annoying.
When a game is stuck in this state:
- The next game function (e.g. clicking Next within another game) takes me to this game where it's not actually my turn. This makes it difficult to play my turns in all games where it's my turn. (I resolve this by just manually clicking on each such game from the games page).
- If the messed up game is an Arena game (which it usually is), I can't play any other Arena Backgammon games because they tell me I have to play the messed up Backgammon game first due to Arena rules.
I suspect that when a game is in this state, it is also telling the other player that it is their turn because the situation gets resolved once they take a turn. And I find that usually happens within a reasonable time frame.
I kind of doubt reloading or clearing cookies will resolve it as I'm pretty sure when I've had a game in this state that it appears on all three devices that I play on.

Looking through open bug reports for Backgammon, this issue has already been reported:
