Hi. They don't take it for sure, but you need to buy premium. There is a huge list of positions regarding statistical data. Perhaps you can see the statistics that interest you there.

That huge list of positions regarding statistical data from what i saw when i was premium, didn't include the start position.
I think the starting position should also be included in games statistics.
I am sick and tired to start last in most of game without being at least able to argue with numbers.
Wingspan games (2 players) are particularly soulcrushing.

There are no statistics, but you can check your games one by one: https://boardgamearena.com/gamestats?pl ... finished=0
For the last 10, your positions were:
4/4
4/5
2/4
2/4
4/4
4/5
2/4
2/4
3/5
2/4

So you started last 2 out of 10 times. You have a better case if you argue that you "start second most of the time" (5 out of 10), or that you're never sheriff (0 out of 10).

Is there such a case as a "good" case (or better one, as you call it)?
How can you prove something is off, based on statistics? I mean, the counter-argument would always be "you are just unlucky", no?
The question was for personal tranquility, not to try to make a case; because i know no one would take a weird case (any case) into consideration, because "luck is part of the game".
So if for argument's sake, someone starts 2nd in 56/58 last games (in a 2 players game), I don't think people would think that is strange (or do something about it).
They would simply say "extreme bad luck".
Do you catch my drift?

Indeed, you can never "prove" anything based on statistics, except that anything you have a sample of is possible.

But statistics can sometimes put your mind at rest. If you feel you are playing last too often, and statistics say it happens 2 out of 10 times (and I don't claim what I did was proper statistics, it's just a very limited sample), perhaps you can reconsider and admit that unconscious selective bias was probably affecting your feeling. If statistics show it happen 8 out of 10 times, you can now start to wonder if it's just bad luck or something else.

If you want to do proper analysis, I suggest you start collecting the data now, for any new game you start, instead of going through old data. Formulate you hypothesis first (I start last too often) and then collect the data. Doing it the other way around is a source of bias.
