Arena Ranking System & ELO ranking

I do not know if there is a topic about the arena ranking already, but I would like to know how the points are attributed.
I see the leaders have 1700+ points. How are these po8nts gained? Because I checked their profiles and they have not played that much... How do they get a score like that? And they are winn8ng at a rate of 60% which is not enough to keep you that high...
And same question about ELO ranking. Is there a guideline?
