Couldn't support a project, can't figure out why

Hey,

Can someone please explain why I couldn't support the "geology" project in this situation ? I used four X tokens to get association to strength 5, I have 2 workers available to support it (since I already have workers in the "5" spot of the assoc. panel), I have 3 rock icons for the project... and yet the game doesn't allow me to do it.

What am I missing here ?

You already have 2 workers on the project space. If you'd only had one worker there, a second project would require 2 workers; with more than one there, you can't do it a second time.

Interesting. Is this specified in the Marine Worlds rulebook ? I can't find any mention of it.

Ok I found a mention in the glossary in the section regarding the new assoc. actions :

This seems extremely niche and if it is indeed the only spot where it's mentioned, I find it pretty bad, since you can get in this situation without the new action card (with an extra shift token or animal, going from 3 workers to 2 on a spot).

That being said, my main query is answered, so thanks :)

Don't have the rules available, but I'd suspect it's in the base game rules where it specifies that when you have a worker on a spot, your next use of that spot requires 2 workers. Not sure how it's worded, since I don't think base game had any way for you to get exactly 2 workers on one spot, but it's probably worded in such a way that it covers this case.

It only makes the distinction between 1 and 3 (which made sense for the base game, as you said), which is why I was under the impression that it was possible:

Do you not need to hit the plus on the worker at the top bar to play the second worker?

No, this "+" is related to the Marine World association action that allows you to "pay" an extra worker to gain 2 assoc. strength.
