Beta games advertised on the front page...?

Why is there a beta game (Tekken) being advertised on the front page?
Does BGA understand the idea that a Beta game is a game that has not yet been released for a reason.
Release the game, then advertise it. That is the order.

These are not direct comparisons.
They are not gathering orders. You are being actively encouraged to use the product before it's has been fully tested. If the product is good enough to advertise then it should be good enough to release. Just stick to logic, and you won't fall over your own feet.

I get ads for games that aren't even live on kickstarter, so not taking orders.
Car manufacturers flood magazines with next year's models all the time, not taking orders.
Dunno the last time a movie trailer let me order anything either.

with any of those things you've mentioned you're not actually getting to use the real thing.
It's not like a movie trailer, it's like the advert to get you to buy a ticket for the show that in playing now.

and with this tekken thing, you have the choice to check it out or wait patiently for it to release.
seriously, advertising isnt just for sales, its for drumming up interest and awareness.

In addition to what's been mentioned, after 900-some titles played in the past few years with probably several hundred in beta when I played them, I generally find the quality to be close between beta and full release and never hesitate to play from either bucket. Alphas I choose sparingly.
The biggest difference I suppose is that newer betas will not yet have had time for a tutorial to be created, so video, if available, or read the rulebook is often necessary. But for me, that's not a big deal. I find it good to mix things up. May not work for everyone of course.

Maybe more beta testers needed?
Depending on the (un-)popularity of certain games not enough people join alpha, it me be playable but certain small bugs or rules clraifications needed, which may require lots of games to figure out. Beta helps there and to raise awareness.
PUP is quite popular, also to advertise. More testers needed ... Who ever implements and does the coding can never get/see all the possibilites as hundreds of players...
