If you ever use the search feature for bugs or suggestions on BGA, to try to find if someone has already reported the same bug or made a similar suggestion before you post, then you know it's often useless - even if someone has posted the same thing you're about to, chances are you won't find it.

There are several reasons for this, but one big one is that you can never see more than one set of results that match your filters. When you click "see more", the "more" results don't match what you filtered for.

I reported this as a bug a couple of months ago: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=172387 - please click the thumbs up on that post if this frustrates you as well, either when you search, or if you just want other people to post fewer duplicates so the good suggestions get more votes.

As a bug report admin for a specific game, this definitely hinders my efforts. I want to search for all open bug reports of a specific type or with a specific keyword, and I want to be able to click "more " and actually see more with the correct search parameters.

I also wish people would read the rules before posting a bug, or use the search feature (searching some games with a specific keyword will suffice to find enough "notabug" results to realize the bug is not a bug, especially if a keyword is searched for AND the status "notabug" is included).

Large font banners so visible that nobody could miss seeing them would help.

Also, I wish the option to report a bug in the category of "could not access game" were removed. Those bug reports are a waste of time.

I totally agree that this bug undermines people being able to do the right thing, i.e., search current reports before submitting a possible duplicate. I just tried to upvote it, but apparently I already had....

I would support a 10-day ban from reporting bugs when a player reports an erroneous bug report that has been erroneously reported a dozen times and which shows up a dozen times when doing a simple keyword search for any of the two keywords relevant to the non-bug.

No Karma loss, no chat ban, no forum ban; just no bug reporting for 10 days.

Now, the intriguing question is .... if I could click "more" to see beyond the 20 most recent results, while keeping those same two search parameters, how many dozens more identical incorrect bug reports would I see.

I was being facetious, making a joking reference to the fact that the search parameters not remaining when clicking "more" ends up preventing me from knowing how many duplicate incorrect reports exist for any particular incorrect bug report. Seemed fitting, considering that is the subject of this thread.
