Card 24 with agriculturist does not trigger the 1 extra farm tile?

AGRICULTURALIST:Whenever you retrieve, you may collect one additional income. You may not collect twice from the same . Note that tiles and cards that use the word “retrieve” trigger this ability, whereas those that specify only “collect income” do not.


So its exactly regarding the Agriculturist: Card 24 uses the word retrieve, so Ability should be triggered. It is not talking about collect income which would not trigger, but rather do not collect income?

Card 24 says: „do not collect income“. You do not get income, so you can’t get additional income, I guess. The note just says, that „collect income“ without „retrieve“ does not trigger the additional income; it does not say anything about „retrieve“ without „collect income“. So, I think, the special rule of card 24 („do not get income“) also apply to the general ability of the agriculturis (for me, the word „additional“ implies that I already get any income).

but if additional means additional the way you define, why do you get an income of 1 with agriculturist if you gain 0 (only lvl4 bees for example). i mean 0+1 makes sense but with your wording 0 is no income so you wouldnt get additional?

I don't think "additional" is the key. It's just that card 24's "do not collect" has priority. Or that agriculturalist acts first, adding 1 to the income. And the card 24 says, effectively, multiply all income by 0. "Do not collect" is not the same as "collect 0"

but thats than exactly a 50:50 case, which card overwrites the other. But anyhow typical stonemaier, making all the nice appendicies and card glossary to not than clarify it. Amazing components and such and then cutting corners on balance and clarifications...

From one of the designers:
Agriculturalist only triggers if you are already collecting at least one other income.

So BGA is following the rules in this instance.
