Hey, I barely know what I am doing and need to revisit the tutorial, but how do I dump all of the fear cards that are clogging my hand?

Welcome to Arnak. First plays can be a little rough (mine was) but do stick with (I did, it’s now my favourite game).

I checked your three player game in progress. All three of you are rookies (at least to Arnak on BGA).

You’ve got three fear cards. You started with two. That’s ok. Yes, they clog your hand a little but can be used for boots to travel cheaply and to discard (eg bottom right campsite to gain a ruby). They are only -1 point each at game end.

How to exile ANY card. Look for the red X through a card symbol. E.g. there are two as icon bonuses on the Level 1 sites (2nd and 4th from left). Be first to visit the site, collect the icon and get a free exile action.

The first available assistant would allow you to exile one card per round, if you acquire her moving up the research track. Although the middle assistant provides a bit of gold so can be useful too, especially in early rounds.

Guardians can also provide a boon. The guardian top left on the level 2 sites will give a free exile action if you overcome it. It looks like an opponent grabbed similar from a guardian as they have that X card symbol on their campsite near the assistant slot.

Edit - you can get some on the temple track. The variable bonus tokens have them on levels 2 and 4 but it’s the first player to reach them. The temple level bonuses printed down the side of the board don’t help, but the other basic board, the Lizard Temple, does have some X/exile markers but also gives out more fear cards.

Finally, some item and artefact cards can provide an X exile action.

I wouldn’t sweat having three fear cards, although if your current five card hand has three of them then that can be frustrating.

Enjoy the game. There is a bit of learning how to make progress but it’s a rich game once you get there after a game or two.
