Shouldn't we be clear about the initial placement?

I don't know if this is the correct rule, but under BGA's current specifications, even if you are overlapping a guard on your first turn after invading, you will not take damage as long as you remain overlapped until the end of the turn.
Therefore, even if there are multiple branching points near a guard, placing your character in a position where you can quickly clear a path to the second floor, or in some cases if there is a guard at a branching point, intentionally overlapping your initial position with the guard and going in the opposite direction of the guard will often result in a strong initial position.
However, perhaps because the tutorial explains that placing your character away from the guard is smart, beginners often get distracted by getting away from the guard and tend to choose a very difficult starting position, such as at the end of a single road.
If this is the correct rule, it would be difficult to fix the tutorial, but shouldn't we at least add this as a supplement to the rules?
