Board Game Arena

The World Series of Board Gaming is a premier tournament held each year in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA since 2022. The best players in the world compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes at the event. But we want to open up the opportunity to give more people the chance to attend. So we are hosting online tournaments here on BGA to give away free tickets to the best players here on the platform!

How will this work? There will be a combination of "Freeroll" and "Qualifier" events for each of the available Ring games that will be played at next year's event on September 5-9, 2026. Since not all the tournament games are represented on Board Game Arena, we will use some games that are featured in our Phoenix tournaments so that there will be 16 total games used for tournament play. If you want to know more about what a Ring game and a Phoenix game is, you can read all about it at wsbgvegas.com. I'll stick to how the Online Events will work here.

FREEROLL TOURNAMENTS
The Freeroll tournament will be 16 async tournaments held throughout the year. As the name implies, they will be free for anyone to enter. The tournaments will be turn-based and Swiss style. Each async game will be played over a period of 10 to 15 days with 4 to 5 games per tournament. The top player-s will receive a free entry to a Qualifier tournament of the same game. Our first two events are open for registration and will be starting the beginning of October, just a week after the conclusion of our live event in Vegas. Details will be posted in this thread.

PREMIER TOURNAMENTS
These tournaments will also be for the same games as the Freeroll tournaments, but they will be private elimination tournaments. Registration for these tournaments will be available from our Discord server and our web site wsbgvegas.com. They will be a combination of turn-based and live events that will take place over the next year starting in December. These tournaments will advance the winner of each game to the next round. The overall winner of each PREMIER tournament will receive a first round bye in that event and other prizes.
