Option to not play against players from certain countries

Imho it would be nice if we can pick to avoid players from certain countries. Could be that today a lot of players would want to avoid players from Russia or Israel.
Or maybe some people want to avoid players from another country for any other reason then the obvious ones today.
You can leave game rooms if someone shows up from countries you don't want, but no such option in ranked.

With "ranked" you mean "Arena". You can't choose your opponent in Arena, but you can play ranked (i.e., not friendly, with elo, competitive) outside Arena.
In any case, you can't filter players "from certain countries". You can filter (manually) by the flag they have set in their profiles, but that's all.

Except for turn-based, where much to my frustration, the game just auto-starts.
(I don’t care about a person’s flag, but sometimes I might want to decline a match for some other reason. )

Interesting idea. I could understan d why that might be an issue for some players. You could make it a suggestion.

I'm sure it will get as far as
this request for a country filter did.

Yes. If you want to be picky beyond what the table settings and your red thumbs allow, you better join tables only to fill the last spot. There's still the problem that the table owner can invite other players, bypassing level/karma/red thumbs (they can in real-time, I assume they can in turn-based too).

Yeah, in general BGA staff don't tolerate xenophobia. Not all citizens of a specific country are in agreement with the leaders of that country. You can hold them accountable for how they play, if they want to say things in the chat you don't like, but not simply where they are from.

I support this feature request. I want to play games (Arena and otherwise) with only players from certain countries, and would like to make my games invisible to players outside those countries.

Sorry. You are going to have to *** do it one person at a time with red thumbs.
edited: please remain courteous on the foorums.

Your idea doesn't work for tournaments. I mean, if you meet a player from a country you don't want in a tournament, you have to either play them or get eliminated.
Ultimately, fair competition means battling against anyone who might be on your road. I'm not sure why being against a country should mean you would want them to be filtered out of a competition where you want to prove you are the best.
