Phone calls during real time games

I've had a few arena games that I'm indirectly lost because of phone calls. Some even people drag phone calls on and on when it should be a quick yes and no question involved. Can anyone else relate to this?. Some games I can play distracted better than others. Some games I simply cannot play the basic game distracted at all. Some other games I can play distracted, but my gameplay is effected . Usually arena games where I know how to play the basic game, but I need to pay attention better to not lose or win such in arena games. I've been able to switch to turn based before in a two player game when my phone call distracted me to the point of getting a late tern penalty. It's harder to get this in a game with more players involved. So usually I just mindless take my turn and move on playing badly.

Just let the call go to voicemail and you can phone back when the game is finished.

In the old times, when you were not home, you could not answer the phone, and that didn't seem to be a big deal most of the time.

A case of "playing BGA while at work"?

If the phone call is more important than the game, then the game doesn't matter. If it's not, don't answer.
What exactly are you hoping to accomplish by posting this thread?

What do you do when you watch a film? Go swimming? Use the restroom? Play any sort of sport whatsoever? Visit the doctor? Or any of another zillion activites where you can't be interrupted for a block of time?
Aren't there times in your life when you can block out other distractions for a brief while?

Me too… I’m trying to create space for gaming so as to minimize interruptions. Most of the time this means just playing Turn-based.
On a related note, I sometimes play phone chess when I’m walking. It is so much harder!!! Good challenge if anyone wants to spice things up.
