Board Game Arena

I recently changed my settings to block all of the specialty variants of this game, and now when I search for players it never finds any. Can someone advise me here? I really don't like the specialty versions, but if my settings are preventing me from playing at all, I will reconsider.

There are plenty of players that play without any special variants. Even with rating filters stopping anyone below 300 rating from entering my games I have no issues finding players.

Do you have any suggestions as to why I haven't been able to start a game over the past 3 days? Prior to that, I could usually get a game going within minutes. But since Wednesday, it stays stuck in "Searching For Players" mode indefinitely. I've tried at all times of the day.

So the only thing you changed was setting the variants to "I never want to play with" in the filters?

I think I figured it out. It turns out I turned off 3 of 4 specialty options, but not the 4th one. Once I did that, I was able to play.
