Should skipping of players turns be allowed in friendlies if they made recent moves promptly ?

Ok,for what it's worth, this hasn't happened to me,although the interface wrongly thought I was trying to skip my opponent's turn. But say a player goes over time limit in a turn-based friendly, but then plays a couple of moves promptly. What is the point of then allowing opponents to skip their turn ? IMO,it only encourages selective turn-skipping when a player is doing badly, and annoys the other opponents who have been patient.

There is no time in friendly mode, or do you mean non arena?

They are as competitive as Arena and tournaments.
Even if they weren't, someone entering a game with a specific time limit is willing to play with those settings. They're not necessarily willing to play at a slower rate, so they're definitely allowed to skip/expel.

No I personally don't think so and consider it poor sportsmanship. Even when playing turn based (like one move a day), I usually give them at least 24-48 hours after their time runs out because they might have an emergency or was just too tired to make a move that day.

Agreed. My point was that if a player played slowly at first in a turnbased non-tournament game, but then started to play normally/promptly,why should other players then be allowed to skip their turns/why would they want to ? Ok,very occasionally,it might be because they had holiday plans and had run out of jokers. But it's far more likely to be for tactical reasons because they are doing badly in the game.

Because the player who went out of time already lost. The other players may continue playing while it's "fun" for them, but they don't need to lose a game they already won.

What? Of course not. They didn't loose until they are skipped.

Already put themselves in a losing position, vulnerable to a "checkmate" any time the other player(s) decide.

Indeed...so then all the more reason to give them an incentive to play on.If that vulnerability were cancelled after a couple of moves at normal speed, that would allow them a decent chance of winning the game,as opposed to the risk of being skipped at any time.
