Extreme Lag Fix?

I asked in chat, and it seems like others are experiencing this problem to some extent so figured I'd make a post.
Anyone have any tips for mitigating the extreme lag that has cropped up in recent weeks?
I can't get through a game without essentially DC'ing multiple times. It's frustrating, and is causing me to lose games due to returning with little time and just spamming out an action.

This occurs on my account across multiple computers, and multiple locations. I do not have issues on any other website, and when the issue is occurring I have 5 bars on my wifi (or wired connection seems to be working correctly pending location.) A speed test during the "down" period, shows my internet pulling info down at 300 mb/s down. A test of if the site is down via websites that do that show BGA being up during the periods.

I've restarted all computers and networks involved. I get various warnings in game, just "Action loading" or language to that effect forever, a red bar appearing asking me if I have internet connection when I certainly do, and various other hangups. Then when I F5 the page, often it says BGA is not responding or timed out.

This seems like a site issues to me; but given the lack of posts about it/discussion I can't imagine it is. Any suggestions are welcome!

I am experiencing the same thing. This began after the site design / logo change.

Thank you for pointing this out. I also have experienced the same thing and constantly have to refresh my screen in several games. Most of the time, it works but I did have an incident a week or two ago in which my game (Praga) would not refresh and I even tried using a different browser, my phone (on a cell network, not my Internet), etc. and still I could not get in. I got an exit penalty.

I really take my reputation seriously so I did contact the mods and provided evidence from the general chat in which other people had experienced extreme slowness as well, even though there was no site-wide outage reported. Some have told me that they believe that some servers go down or into extreme lag at times, while others are not affected.

To the mods credit, they did dismiss the exit penalty (although the time penalty was left showing) but Emma advised me that she considered it more of a one-time courtesy, rather than an admission that BGA is having serious server problems. Yet, the problems continue, and as you and others have pointed out, it started in an extreme way once the new logo came out. Thankfully, I haven't had a game refuse to reload like I did that a week+ ago, but still. I got a lecture of sorts about Internet problems, blah blah blah, but considering that I tried two different networks (my home Internet which very rarely has problems and my cellular network), it is unlikely that the issue was mine. Not to mention that many others were having the same issue. I am thankful for the dismissal this time - I'm sure those don't come frequently - but I still was ticked that it was insinuated that the problem was mine, rather than theirs. And I did carefully explain the issue.

I do not expect perfection, and I am grateful BGA is here; I am a premium member. I have never had a problem like I described above in the several years I have played on BGA (other than the known site-wide outages). Still, BGA needs to take responsibility for their servers, and if something does go wrong, they need mechanisms in place to recognize the problem and to dismiss penalties. Apparently, there are problems that go beyond the obvious site-wide problems. We, the players, are expected to do our part to uphold fair play and good behavior; likewise, I expect BGA's owners and site managers to do their part and play fair with us, the players when these things happen.

Some truth would be helpful here, as well as an action plan to try to fix this. I would be willing to pay a modest increase if this meant a more reliable system. Meanwhile, the players should not be held responsible for the site's problems. I respectfully ask the mods / site managers to consider this and to continue to be helpful in these matters.
