Excessive Trade Requests

Not going to name names but I have been in multiple competitive games where a certain player will offer 3 or more trades every single turn. Their clock ends up not even being the lowest because everyone else has to accept or decline, and their offers will be asking for a resource no one has. I play mostly turn-based, so it's annoying to have the game slowed down so much because a player can't look at the game history and realize that the one number which produces brick hasn't been rolled a single time yet.

I SO wish there was a mechanic in this game to just click "never accept trades" and have all trades auto-declined.
I find there are a lot of people who play and ask for trades constantly, like you said, multiple times per turn. Just stop already. "I didn't have wood when you asked last time, and no 8's were rolled, so why do you think I have wood now"
At the very least, if someone is asking for trades, make their clock run down, not those they are asking!!
I have gone for a "pee break" only to come down and see my clock negative due to someone trying to trade!! Almost got booted, but luckily not.
If people don't respond in 20 seconds or so, give up, take a hint!!!
ALSO stop asking for trades when you have 9 points!!! Nobody is giving you that ore so you can build the final city and win!

There is! Each game you can edit your trade preferences to only sho you their offer if it contains specific resources or to never give you the notifications.

I'd also like to point out in my situation that I turn off my trade alerts on a turn by turn basis. Regardless, the game is still going significantly slower since the trade request has to bounce back and forth between the remaining players. Kind of just shows that Catan isn't the best turn based game, but that's just what I have time for.
