Board Game Arena

Again I won't be playing this Arena Season because another version of game has been selected.

I want to play standard Yahtzee in the Arena - not a variant.

So after a top 20 finish in the Arena in the previous season I won't be playing the new season.

I am disappointed and angry.

And you'd prefer others to be disappointed and angry, of course.

Don't you think there are other players who like the new arena? It's not all about you

where are the rules for this season of yahtzee? I was surprised and have never seen this variant before.

Play more, become guru, vote for standard yahtzee. This post achieves nothing.

They could, imho should, have a different arena session for all the variants of the game.

That way people can play what they like - not the endless variations away from the original game.

This post encourages discussion and therefore does achieve something.

Late to the thread but the problem with standard yahtee are there are sites available that tell you whet the optium strategy is for every die roll.

It would be (almost?) impossible to spot the cheaters who just plug their rolls in the app and play perfectly every roll (with the occasional small "slip" to hide from cheat detectors).

Standard connect 4 is blocked from Arena mode for this reason and I think the same is necessary for Yahtzee. I've not beebn a Yahzee guro but I would not be surprised if the gurus are not selecting standard Yahtzee for this reason.

I like the variant.

This distinction between "standard Yahtzee" and "variants" is a bit pointless, isn't it? This is a whole category of similar dice games with countless variants, many of which predate Yahtzee. Yahtzee is just one more variant, and the only "standard" thing about it is that someone trademarked the name and sold it in a box.
