Board Game Arena

in my opinnion FR in Arena limits the possibilities of Catan and makes it less funny to play.
but, they implement with only 2 points, that means I cannot be robbed having 2 points and 8 cards.
so, it is easy. choose ore, grain and sheep and play cards, cities and knights.
Not funny.
maybe developers can add 2 or 3 dev cards to the 3 points.
But, I will remove FR in Arena.

every arena season, the players who played the most Catan (not just arena, ALL games of catan), become "Guru's" and vote for the next arena season.

Specifically the 100 'most games' players get to suggest setups for the next season then choose between them.

As I've mentioned in other threads this means settings that make games shorter and faster allow people to play more games. So people who prefer to play shorter and faster games tend to become gurus and we get their preferred settings.

Never managed to get to guru in Catan, but on those games where I have reached that status it is worth noting that engagement is pretty low.

I've never seen more than 30 votes (combined up and down) for a final vote round. So < one in three gurus feel strongly enough to vote.
