Agreed. But, that it what the gurus apparently voted for (much to my surprise).

The big problem with the 'gurus' is that you become a 'guru' when you play the game very much, it's not neccesarely based on any skill or knowledge about the game. So the opinion of somebody who played thousand of wingspan games and/or has really high elo is not taken into account, but somebody who just started the game and played very much is suddenly a guru and can decide ridiculous stuff like the 3 player format on arena

Yeah the Guru system is a problem. I’m a guru in the games I’m worst at and even lack arena access. The argument seems to be that you need people who’ve played a lot of games recently instead of sitting out and giving their opinion on something they haven’t really tried. But that could be fixed by lowering the threshold for the number of games a bit while only allowing Arena players to vote.

The point comes up in everygame it's kinda funny.

The spirit of the rule is that a guy playing 1000 games knows better what's funnier than a 500 elo dude that played 5 games during the season.

Some choice drive people out of arena and if only arena players were heard the format would never change.

Like here if only people liking 3 players arena are actually playing, 2 players arena will never come back, which is why it's important to take people playing outside of arena. They may choose not to vote if they don't care though.
