If you want to rant, at least make it a coherent rant. You say "20s is too short." We can guess you are complaining that 20 seconds is too short a time to make a move in some unspecified game. But without knowing which game, we can't tell if your complaint is reasonable. 20 seconds is a perfectly fine amount of time to act in some games.
I'm going out on a limb and will assume you are upset about the Ark Nova game you were expelled from. Those time settings were "Real-time • Fast paced +0:58 per turn (maximum 3:00)." You got an additional 58 seconds every turn, not 20. Or maybe you're referring to the cooldown timer before someone can kick you. If that is activated, it means
you have already run out of time. Those 20 seconds are just a little bit of a grace period before you get kicked. You shouldn't be relying on those 20 seconds as a significant portion of your thinking time.
Obviously you should stop playing Fast real-time games if you can't maintain that pace.
[I am aware of complaints about Ark Nova not giving extra time for turns where you get extra actions. Those are legitimate gripes, but they can go in the Ark Nova forum.]

Expelled from 4 gams of ark nova, all of which appear to have been real-time.
Stop playing with the fast real-time timer. Problem solved.
