Proceed button

Since today, there's a proceed button that pauses the game after each round until both players have clicked it. Imo this makes the game worse not better. It's supposed to be a fast-paced game and when playing (especially in arena mode with the limited set and only 3 pieces) I'm already spending the majority of the time not playing but waiting for my opponent. Now I also have to wait for them to press the button and remain focused and ready to play the whole time. Theoretically, this can also be abused by waiting like 30-60 seconds until your opponent loses focus and only then continuing (though I havent seen anyone doing this yet). What is the idea behind this?

I agree that this button is completely unnecessary. It should either be removed entirely (preferred), or it should have like a 5 second automatic cooldown, similar to the end turn button in Cubirds.

But I would also like to understand why this was added in the first place.

It's also severely borked... When I click proceed the moment it comes up (because why would I waste even more time if I have to clicking pointless buttons that aren't related to the game at all) my opponent's side of the screen isn't reset and it's still greyed out with a huge "2" or "1" on it and while I'm done and I want to mentally do their puzzle, I can't because the grid is harder to see.

The idea behind this was to fix the real annoying bugs that were going on. So it was very necessary since they are now gone.

The same can be achieved by a fixed 5 second cooldown. The game client just needs some time to process the animations.

Or they could remove the animations, animations have no right to interfere with gameplay.

Or it could have just stayed in beta, new bugs after leaving beta is crazy.
