It happens several times that my rival gave up the game because of the elo gap, but I don't know how they can see my elo, while I can't see theirs?

If you go to their profile and click on the xp tab, you can see their elo in all the games they have played. Most likely that's where they saw yours, although I'm not sure why they would bother.

How do you know this? Are they typing in chat "I'm giving up this game because of the Elo gap?" And you said this is Arena, so how do they "give up the game" without losing to you? They can't see who you are before the game begins.

You can use the BGA browser extension to see it as well.

They likely are proposing to abandon and yes they do probably type in chat elo gap, as a pro player playing against an 100 elo player is always a lose lose. It's at best a waste of time for the high ranked player, its for the better of both players to accept the abandon
