Why black and not brown?

Hello,
I've discovered this game recently and I enjoy it a lot. Congrats to the designers!
I was wondering why Blue+Red+Yellow=Black. To me it should be brown. It is what you get with paint and, to me black= no light! So black= absorbed...
In fact, I made this mistake today, I mixed up black and absorbed and I literally spent 2hours trying to find the answer, before I realized that I should search for a wave coming back to the same place black and not absorbed...Also the icons are quite similar.
Maybe a reason is also that Blue+Red+Yellow+White is grey, which makes sens with black. One can imagine light brown instead?
To be honest after that game, I will probably not make this mistake anymore, but still... Is there anyone here who don’t like that black too?

Yeah but that would be unpractical, because then red-white-blue-yellow, which is usually grey, would be light brown using your logic, and it could be mistaken for other colors such as light orange.

Yes, it is probably easier to discriminate with other colors right now. Also, the absorbed light is only a variant. So that makes sense, and this is maybe the best choice, even if not perfect.
