In the King of the Woods, you are an animal! But not just any animal: one who competes to rule the woods. Join a not-so friendly contest to determine who is the strongest, the smartest, the fairest, and the most influential animal.

Your vassals will help you in your quest to gain influence using their abilities to work in your favor or to destabilize your opponents’ court. So how does it work? How do you gain that most coveted influence?

At the start of the game, you are dealt a random hand of different types of vassals, and you must make the best of it. There are 11 different vassals, each with unique influence points and abilities. You can play one card per turn. If you play the card into your own court, gain its influence value, and, for some, their ability. If you play the card into the court of an opponent, they gain its influence, but you benefit from its unique scheming ability.

Master jesters, squires, scholars, knights or princesses in the tutorial. And do not forget, vassals are here to serve, so use them wisely and become the King of the Woods following the link below:

No animal was harmed in the making of this news, and we would like to thank Louis Borchert, the game designer, and Steinbock Brettspiele for this opportunity. And a big thank you to David Kühn: we hope you did not have to use the Guard we sent to protect from any assassins while making the BGA version of the King of the Woods.

That's your Monday release,
And we have more coming soon. Until then, take care and play fair!

Yep, so far there is no english version when it comes to the analog game yet. By now, only a German version is available, thats why there is only the german BGG site.

It is awesome that it can be played in english on BGA now 8-)

Maybe an non-digital english version will come at some point in the future :D

It also doesn't help they misspelled the Designer's name, Louis Borchert.

Typo corrected, thanks for bringing it up. Our apologies to Louis Borchert.
